Embark on a truly unique experience by exploring the jungle after dark, when most of its inhabitants come to life. Scientific research shows that a significant number of species are nocturnal, meaning they are active only at night. This tour offers a rare opportunity to witness the hidden side of the rainforest, where the sounds, sights, and sensations are entirely different from those during the day. As you walk through the jungle under the cover of night, you’ll encounter a fascinating array of wildlife, from insects and frogs to reptiles and nocturnal mammals.

Led by an experienced naturalist guide, the tour provides expert insights into the behaviors and adaptations of these nighttime creatures. Your guide will also help you spot wildlife with the aid of a high-quality spotting scope and even assist in taking impressive photos using your smartphone through the lens. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, photographer, or simply curious about the mysteries of the night, this tour offers an unforgettable glimpse into the vibrant world that thrives after sunset.

We had a fantastic night tour here! Our tour guide and driver were some of the best we had, making it a real standout experience. However, if you prefer to avoid bugs or snakes, this is not the tour for you. Throughout the two hour tour, we saw many types of frogs, lizards, snakes, birds, and even some scorpions. Our guide helped us spot all the creatures and told us many interesting facts about them. At the end of the tour, he shared all the pictures taken with us (at no extra cost) and provided us with some very good iced tea. The tour was very well organized, and we would do it again!

The night tour is nice, the tour guide is knowledgeable and friendly What to expect for 40$ walking tour with the guide One bottle of water with Flash light It takes time to see or find an interesting sighting The guide will help you spotting small species of insects grasshoppers- spiders - tarantulas) You might see snakes (venomous/non venomous) be careful Sleeping red eyed frogs under large leaves Bull frog Rain frog Water shrimps Bats . All of the previous need a scope, you can’t see much without a scope (the guide has one) . It’s humid and hot so dress accordingly Wear a closed shoes with long socks (maybe use an insect repellent to protect your skin ) . If you don’t have a zoom lens don’t bother to bring your camera 🎥 It’s dark and flashlights create strong reflection

Really great experience seeing the jungle at night. Danny was full of information, made sure we saw as much as we could and also helped get great pictures. We saw so many tree frogs, snakes, birds, spiders. Completely different than visiting during the day. Really recommend!

Incredible night tour. Francisco the guide was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable about the weather and the animals. We waited through a downpour with his recommendation and sure enough 10 minutes later it stopped raining. He was more than willing to adjust and accommodate if we needed to reschedule as his intent and focus were on us having a good time. He was extremely helpful in taking photos as there were times that there’s no way we were getting close to the creepy crawlies. We saw almost everything imaginable and he was extremely careful for our well-being.

This tour was recommended to me by so many people and it definitely didn’t disappoint!! Walking through the jungle at night is a game changer. We spent a couple of hours walking through a couple of sections of the jungle in groups of about 6 people, and it was perfect! We saw various types of frogs, including the infamous red eyed frog, vipers, spiders.. it was so cool! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and I learned so much about all the nocturnal species of Costa Rica. Each tour is so unique and different, I would do it again in a heartbeat! We took the chocolate tour earlier that afternoon and the shuttle driver was so kind, he dropped us off in Quepos for dinner and even made recommendations of where to go, then he picked us up again and brought us to the tour! We were so grateful. This is rain or shine so bring a rain coat and/or dry bag if you have one, or an umbrella. If it rains, there are even more animals that come out so it’s a win either way! They gave us each a flashlight so we can see where we are going and try to spot animals, but I wouldn’t have seen anything without our incredible guide! I don’t know how he spotted so many things, especially as they camouflage. I was blown away. Can’t recommend this tour enough.
