very beautiful place. The nature is just wonderful. We went there 2 times and each time the parking lot was full. Sometimes you need to walk from the car about 2 km but that's if there are a lot of people. We were there for a long weekend and there were a lot of people

Go early for any parking or you'll have have a long walk from parking on the road. We visited early July and by 9am the car park was full. Well worth it though absolutely place. The lake really is an emerald colour.

Emerald Lake is stunning. We arrived fairly early, 8.30am and the parking was full with a handful of folk parking along the roadside. We joined them and for us it was about a 30 metre walk to the parking, then over the bridge toward the accommodation available here. We walked anti clockwise around the lake and were blown away by the views. By around 10am the canoe place must have opened and people were canoeing the lake. This affected the mirror effect. Such a stunning place and fascinating geology.

Although the car park was full, there was plenty of safe parking on the approach road. Staff were good at directing traffic. If you are planning to walk the loop around the lake, the first 50% of the anti clockwise route can be very wet and muddy whereas the remainder is excellent.

Parking is very limited during peak season. You will have to park down the road. There isnt anyone managing the parking lot so you will see people parking very oddly. We got lucky and found parking in the lot. Many people are not equipped with spatial awareness so people will walk on the parking lot. Just pay attention.
