Today we learned not only about Renessaince Rome, but about the real freakin tea. Walking through the city now, we still think about the tour constantly. We recognise the symbolism, we order like locals and we navigate the city without this app (well, mostly). Job, you are funny, charismatic and with deep knowledge and passion for Roman history. Thank you!

We enjoyed our tour with Lucio. We loved that the group was small (only 6 for ours); it allowed for a more intimate learning experience; and that Lucio made sure we had shady spots at each stop.

I'll start with a caveat, because it is important to know this, it's not really a free tour. You have to tip at the end and the tip amount is what you would expect to pay for a detailed tour like this. That being said, it is so worth it. We have an amazing time and learned so much about Rome, and not the kind of touristy things you seem to get on so many tours. We learned the history of the locations, the good, the bad, the ugly. We were given insights and information that, to be honest, has made Rome itself even more fascinating, even more a place I want to return to, than it was before. This tour was a college level education. It does require paying tuition (the tip), but boy is it worth it.

The tour did leave about 20mins after the start time as the group was divided into two between Nick and Lucca. We had Lucca as the guide. Excellent walking tour that is off the beaten track from the usual coliseum and Roman forum. I guess if that is what you would like a tour off then this isn’t the tour for you. Otherwise excellent content, did have a break at 1230 (after 1hr 30 mins for the 15minutes) took 3 hours in total and Lucca was the perfect guide as the information was relevant and the content was good; albeit did walk a bit fast and the older crowd could not keep up .

I joined Rome's Ultimate Free Walking Tour in June 2024. I have joined many “walking tours” in other cities, but this tour is very unique and, in my opinion, the best tour that I have attended. Nick was our guide and his knowledge about the history of Rome is exceptional. He is friendly, approachable and he is very passionate about sharing his knowledge and insights with us. End of June is normally a peak season for tourism, but he chose the area/route wisely and managed to take us to interesting spots without being distracted by chaos of big crowds. I really enjoyed his tour and I highly recommend it!!
