The day begins with a hotel pick-up in the morning for a guided tour of Naples. Guests will start with a visit to the Duomo, where they can admire the Chapel of the Treasure in its baroque style, followed by the Basilica of S. Restituta, one of the earliest Christian basilicas dating back to the fourth century. The tour continues by minibus through the city center, passing by Castel Nuovo and stopping at the terrace of the Church of San Antonio in the Posillipo area, which offers panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples. Visitors will then return to the city center to explore Piazza del Plebiscito, the Umberto I Gallery, and see the exterior of the Royal Palace and the S. Carlo Theater.
After the city tour, the journey continues with a visit to Pompeii, where guests will experience a guided tour of the archaeological excavations. The guide will highlight key areas of the ancient city, including the Forum, the Baths, the Lupanare, the Greek Theater, and the plaster casts of the inhabitants who were buried by volcanic ash and lapilli during the eruption of seventy-nine AD. Visitors will gain insight into daily life in Pompeii and the catastrophic impact of the eruption on its residents. A lunch break is included, featuring pizza margherita and a soft drink to refresh before the next adventure.
The final part of the day is a visit to Vesuvius, beginning with a transfer to Torre del Greco and entry into the Vesuvius National Park. Guests will walk from the car park to the summit of the volcano, the only active volcano in continental Europe. At the top, visitors can explore the crater and enjoy breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples stretching from Capo Miseno to the tip of Campanella. After soaking in the spectacular scenery and the unique experience of standing on an active volcano, the tour concludes with a return to the hotel in the early evening.
