England is celebrated for its quirks and traditions—fish and chips, unpredictable weather, warm ale, layers of history, and above all, its deep-rooted love of pomp and ceremony. This small-group experience invites you to step right into one of the most iconic British traditions, the Changing of the Guard. More than just a ceremonial shift of soldiers, this world-famous spectacle is a vibrant display of discipline, pageantry, and symbolism that has captivated visitors for centuries. With your expert guide at your side, you’ll be given rare insight into the story behind the ceremony and the details that most onlookers miss, making the experience both entertaining and deeply enriching.
As the Guards march in their striking red tunics and bearskin hats, your guide will unravel the fascinating history behind every step. You’ll learn to distinguish a Welsh Guard from a Grenadier Guard, uncover the origins of those towering black hats, and discover the meaning behind each symbol, button, and color on their uniforms. From your carefully chosen vantage point, you’ll not only have the best view of the spectacle but will also march alongside the Guards on their way toward Buckingham Palace, swept up in the rhythm of the drums and the stirring regimental music. Each performance brings its own surprises, leaving you to wonder what tune will fill the air today as you witness a living tradition that embodies the very spirit of England.

What an amazing evening! Our tour guide was awesome. Super funny and lots of disgusting but interesting facts. So good we’ll be returning with friends. It’s not our first walking tour but it’s our first walking tour like this. Book it, you won’t be disappointed!

Every time I visit a new city I try to go on a ghost/dark history tour to try and better acquaint myself and understand the place I am visiting. This tour did not disappoint. Due to the weather ( just a little dreary) and time of year, all other guests cancelled and I was the only participant. You would not know this however as Maggie's enthusiasm was undaunted and she and her partner gave me a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour as if 20 people were in attendance. I would highly recommend this tour if you find yourself visiting London.

I cannot recommend this tour enough! Our tour guide, Mary, was so incredibly wonderful and made the tour feel personalized to our group. Having been an expat in England, I have done all of the "touristy" things at least a few times each when people come to visit, but this was completely new and different. I learned so many new details of the lesser-known areas of the city and made me see the area in a whole new light. The walking was extremely manageable with stops every 5 minutes or so. I will recommend this tour to everyone from now on! And a side note, a special thank you to the tour operators. Our initial tour was scheduled for a day of tube strikes and they were so incredibly communicative and made me love this tour group even before we met anyone in person. I think it is the best customer service I have ever encountered and the kindness will stick with me. Thank you!

An excellent tour full of historical knowledge and entertainment. They also add a whole vignette on geotechnical engineering, which officially makes this the best tour possible. Maggie was pure energy.

I recently went on the Cloak and Dagger Tour in Southwark, and it was absolutely fantastic! The tour was engaging, immersive, and incredibly well-researched, bringing to life the dark and dramatic history of the area. The guides were brilliant storytellers, blending historical facts with theatrical performances that kept everyone captivated. The mix of crime, mystery, and gruesome tales made it both thrilling and educational. The atmospheric locations, combined with the actors' energy and knowledge, made this a truly memorable experience. If you’re a fan of London’s hidden history, true crime, or immersive storytelling, I highly recommend this tour. It’s an impressive, well-organized, and unique experience—definitely worth doing!
