The tour begins with a guided walk through Porto's historic center, starting at the renowned Avenida dos Aliados, where you’ll be captivated by its grand architecture. From there, the journey continues to the majestic Clérigos Tower and other notable sites, including the world-famous McDonald’s, often regarded as one of the most beautiful globally. You will then visit São Bento Train Station to explore its rich history and remarkable tile panels depicting key moments in Portuguese culture. The Cathedral of Sé, one of Porto’s oldest monuments, offers a chance to pause and admire the views, followed by a visit to the Fernandina Wall for sweeping city vistas.
After the walking portion, the tour continues by bus to Vila Nova de Gaia for a traditional Port wine cellar visit, where you’ll learn about the winemaking process and enjoy a tasting of three varieties of Port wine. There is optional lunch at a local restaurant or free time to sample local dishes such as the Francesinha or Bacalhau. The afternoon includes a one-hour Rabelo boat cruise along the Douro River, offering panoramic views of Porto and its six iconic bridges. The tour concludes with a visit to Foz do Douro for views of the Atlantic coast and Castelo do Queijo, followed by a scenic drive through Boavista, passing Casa da Música and Serralves Park, before returning to the city center.
