Beautiful place to spend a few hours in nature! The Phong Nha Botanic Garden has a nice walking trail through the jungle, a small but lovely waterfall, and plenty of chances to spot wildlife. The paths are well-marked, and it’s not too crowded, which makes it feel peaceful and authentic. It’s a great way to experience the natural side of Phong Nha without needing a full-day cave tour. Bring water and good shoes — it can get hot, but it’s totally worth it!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Peaceful and Educational Nature Experience Visiting the Phong Nha Botanical Garden was a truly refreshing experience. The lush greenery, well-maintained trails, and informative signboards throughout the garden made it an ideal spot for nature lovers, families, and travelers seeking a quiet escape. I appreciated how the garden is organized to allow visitors to learn about the local flora while enjoying scenic walks under the shade of tall trees. It’s also a great place to spot birds and butterflies if you take your time. The facilities are clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. There’s also a small waterfall and natural swimming area inside, which adds an adventurous touch to the visit. Highly recommended for anyone coming to Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park. It’s not just a garden – it’s a peaceful space to reconnect with nature and learn something new.

This was such a fun place to visit, but it felt more like a regular park as opposed to a botanical garden. There are different hikes of varying lengths. The shortest is about 30 min and the longest one is said to be 3 hours but we finished it in maybe half that time? There are two swimming spots which were a lot of fun but bring inspect repellant!!! When we initially arrived we ended up leaving and coming back with pants and insect repellant because as soon as we stepped on the trail we were completely surrounded by mosquitoes.

Such a peaceful and lush spot to explore just outside of town. The gardens are beautifully maintained and incredibly green, with lots of plant varieties clearly labeled and spread across well-marked trails. The walking paths are a mix of stone steps and dirt tracks, and while it can be a bit slippery after rain, it’s still very walkable with proper shoes. The bamboo bridges crossing small creeks really added to the jungle charm, and there’s a great mix of natural scenery throughout the trail – including a waterfall that makes for an awesome photo stop. It’s quiet, not too busy, and definitely a refreshing change of pace. I’d recommend setting aside 90 to 120 minutes to enjoy the experience without rushing. If you’re in Phong Nha and enjoy nature or a bit of light trekking, this is absolutely worth adding to your list. 💵 Entry: 80,000 VND per adult 🛵 Parking: 5,000 VND for motorbikes, 10,000 VND for cars 👟 Tip: Wear sturdy shoes, especially if it’s been raining

This place is promoted as a Botanical Garden, but it isn’t. If you want to know what a real botanical garden looks like, go to Singapore. What’s here is a tropical rain forest, covering a karst landscape, with hiking trails and some nice sightseeing attractions. The entry fee is 45,000 VND. This allows you to do the YELLOW TRAIL. There’s a map in the entrance area, which provides detail of the route. Most visitors just go to GIO WATERFALL, which is only 400 meters from the ticket office. If you want to do the full yellow trail hike, I highly recommend going in the opposite direction (counterclockwise) to the information map. The reason being is that you will end the hike at the swimming hole and be able to go for cooling swim. If you go in the direction shown on the map (clockwise) you’ll walk past the swimming hole at the beginning of the hike. Go to the waterfall first, then make the ascent up the most difficult part of the trail, to the viewpoint. After this it’s mostly downhill until you arrive at the swimming hole. Note: the best time of the year to visit is April – June, when there’s still water flowing. Safe travels, Mega.
