I would like to share my gratitude to Sharjah police office at Sharjah Airport for being so helpful and supportive to find my bag after being lost , From the time I have reported the case they did impossible efforts to calm me down and getting my bag back with less than 30 minutes! Arrivals part is tiny, departures is a bit roomier, from the coffee machine you can get bean espresso for 6 dirhams or there is Dunkin Donuts. To get a proper taxi as you’ve arrived, pass all the poor souls wearing black suits when it’s 100 F, keep going. Cross the street and you’ll see a little above ground tunnel (?) with access to taxis, public buses, and air Arabia Shuttle. If you flew air Arabia, save the boarding pass, you can ride Sharjah airport - Al Ghubaiba bus for free (look up the schedule).
Update (Sept 2025): A very different—and very positive—second visit. Changing the rating to 5 star I came back to Sharjah Airport with time to actually walk around, and I need to give credit where it’s due. The place is immaculate. Floors shine, bins aren’t overflowing, and the washrooms are spotless and genuinely luxurious—easily on par with big international hubs. Big kudos to the housekeeping team; you can tell they’re on it. Inside, the experience felt organized and calm. Clear signs for A/B/C/D, plenty of seating, and staff who actually guide you instead of just pointing. There are cafés, shops, and restaurants open late, plus a medical center and a special-services desk—so everything you need is under one roof. Outside, the forecourt is well lit and tidy. Getting to Departures is straightforward (stairs/elevator), and the parking is close and easy to navigate. I didn’t notice the smoke issue from my first visit, and pedestrian flow felt better managed. Overall, I’m happy to revise my earlier opinion. Sharjah Airport is clean, efficient, and comfortable—a solid, stress-free alternative to DXB. The arrival area felt overcrowded and poorly organized, more like a bus station than an international airport. There was very little enforcement of rules—smokers were puffing everywhere, creating an unpleasant environment. Facilities seemed lacking; I couldn’t find any visible washrooms. Traffic safety was another concern, as drivers rarely stopped for pedestrians, even at marked crossings. The only positives: the process was quick for my wife’s arrival compared to Dubai International Airport, and parking fees are slightly cheaper (AED 27 for 2 hours vs. ~AED 30 in Dubai). Overall, Sharjah Airport has a long way to go to meet basic comfort, safety, and service standards.
