Please consider taking with any of these rides as you possibly get mugged. It’s a pity as it is a very cool way of getting around but drivers are thief and they do have a well thought strategy to scam you. Read if you are considering to take a ride, specially if it’s at night time; it could get even dangerous. 1- After you have shared your destiny, ask before them your destiny, for a set price take a picture of the license plate and/or a selfie if you can. Let them see you taking the picture. Wish we had ! 2- Set your money aside ready to pay when the ride ends. 3- Be aware of surroundings while in the ride; Cel phones, purses, bags, etc secured. 4- Make sure you make them drop you off exactly where you want as they will try to act like they don’t know and they will try to isolate you in order to play you with quick cash trick or mug you. My wife and I were pretty disgusted with what happened to us and to several in our group as well. Fortunately, It did reach to violence, but almost. Not sure if this is the exact company, but the tourist industry should address type of schemes as it does not help with the entire’s country ‘s outstanding efforts in bringing tourism to it’s highest level. Thanks Vietnam 🇻🇳 for the rest of the beautiful experiences.

Our tour guide arranged it for us so not aware of the price by it was a beautiful experience. Very comfortable

Unfortunately, our experience with Hanoi Cyclo Tours was disappointing. We boarded a cycle to explore the famous 36 Streets, as advertised, but our guide only took us through 7 or 8 streets and ended the ride in under 30 minutes—far short of the promised hour-long tour. We felt misled, as this ride was supposed to cover more of the area. Our advice: be cautious when approached by random cyclo drivers. Always negotiate the price upfront and clarify the route they’ll take. In our case, we felt like we were cheated.
