Intensive Competent Crew Sailing Course
Build your confidence at sea with an intensive sailing course designed for students who already have basic sailing experience. This live aboard training follows the Royal Yachting Association curriculum and provides practical knowledge for enjoying life aboard and cruising a yacht.
During the course, students develop essential skills in safe seamanship, emergency response and basic crewing techniques. Training also introduces navigation, tides, weather awareness, anchoring, docking and international collision regulations, creating a well rounded foundation for confident yacht cruising.
The course offers an opportunity to explore part of the beautiful British Columbia coast while learning through practical onboard experience. Students will gain valuable insight into the cruising lifestyle and develop greater confidence in working as part of a sailing crew.
This condensed course is intended for students who have completed RYA Start Sailing or can demonstrate equivalent yacht experience and knowledge. Students without previous sailing experience should choose the longer Competent Crew course instead. Eligible younger participants can also receive a special age based discount.
