Discover the history of Wisconsin craft distilling with a one hour visit to Great Lakes Distillery in Milwaukee. Located at 616 W Virginia Street, the experience introduces visitors to one of Wisconsin’s pioneering craft distilleries since Prohibition. Guests can learn about the distillery, its award winning spirits and the traditional processes used to create them.

The guided experience offers an informative look at how spirits are produced, from the distillation process to the finished products. Visitors can hear stories about the distillery and gain a better understanding of craft spirit production in Wisconsin. The tour has earned recognition from local publications and offers an engaging experience for both spirits enthusiasts and travelers interested in Milwaukee’s local food and drink culture.

A guided tasting flight of six spirits forms an important part of the experience. Guests can sample a selection of award winning products while learning more about the drinks and their production. A non drinker ticket is also available for designated drivers who wish to enjoy the tour without the tasting flight. Guests may also purchase cocktails separately from the tasting room before, during or after the tour.

Visitors are advised to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before their scheduled tour because tours begin promptly. The facility is accessible, although reaching the production area requires leaving through the main entrance and using two small flights of stairs with 16 steps. There is no elevator in the facility. Guests can also browse the retail area for spirits, clothing, glassware and souvenirs after the tour.
