From Bratislava: Small Fatra Tour with Zilina

Zilina Vratna Valley Day Tour

Begin your journey from Bratislava Main Train Station at 8 27 AM and travel by train toward Zilina. The journey takes approximately two hours and train tickets with reserved seats are sent in advance. The train journey is unaccompanied, and your licensed driver guide will meet you at Zilina Train Station before continuing toward the beautiful Vratna Valley.

During the scenic drive, learn about the history of Slovakia and the Small Fatra region from your driver guide. Upon arrival in Vratna Valley, take the funicular toward Snilovske Peak at an elevation of 1524 meters. Enjoy a short stroll at the summit and admire the spectacular mountain scenery before descending back into the valley. The funicular schedule may change, and another activity may replace it during unsuitable weather.

Continue to the famous Slovak village of Terchova, renowned for its rich folk traditions. Terchova Music has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 2013. Enjoy a two course lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the parish church of St Cyril and Method and discovering its beautiful wooden creche.

The journey continues to Zilina, the important center of North West Slovakia. Explore the charming Old Town and see the Church of Holy Trinity, Burian Tower, Holy Mary Square, Catholic House, Bank Palace, and Rosenfeld Palace, inspired by the Belvedere Palace in Vienna. Finish with a visit to the Church of St Stephan, the oldest building in Zilina, before returning to the train station for the evening train to Bratislava.
