Before departure, the host provides essential route instructions, explains the map, and recommends suitable timing for the hike. Transfers are available from Funchal, Camara de Lobos, and Canico, with comfortable transportation to the trailhead and collection from the Achada do Teixeira car park.
The full experience takes around seven to eight hours, including transfers and hiking time. Mountain conditions can be considerably cooler than in Funchal, so warm clothing, comfortable walking shoes, water, and suitable hiking essentials are recommended.
