Lakewood Creative Flameworking Workshop
Discover the creative art of flameworking during this beginner friendly workshop in Lakewood Colorado. Participants use torches and borosilicate glass to create their own unique glass snails and slugs. No previous glassmaking experience is needed as instructors guide participants through each step of the process.
During the three and a half hour workshop, participants learn how to safely handle molten glass and shape it into small decorative creatures. The class offers a relaxed and engaging introduction to flame working while allowing everyone to explore their creativity and develop basic glass shaping skills.
Each participant works toward creating at least one or two handmade glass slugs. The pieces can be personalized with different shapes and details, making every creation unique. All required glass, tools, and safety equipment are available during the workshop, allowing participants to focus on learning and creating.
The workshop is suitable for ages 14 and above, with participants aged 14 to 17 required to attend with an adult. Participants should have reasonable manual dexterity. A waiver must be completed before class or participants should arrive 10 minutes early to complete the paperwork. Finished glass pieces need to cool slowly in a kiln overnight and can be collected after 24 hours or shipped for an additional fee.
