This approximately five hour excursion offers a convenient way to explore Mount Etna in half a day. Guests can choose a morning or afternoon experience starting from Catania or Taormina, followed by a scenic drive through Giarre, Santa Venerina, Milo, and Fornazzo.
The journey continues along the Mare-neve road before reaching a fascinating lava flow cave. Guests then make a technical stop at the Alpine Hut before traveling toward the extinct craters of the Sartorius Mountains.
An easy trek follows the Sartorius Mountains nature trail, offering an opportunity to experience the volcanic landscape on foot. After the trek, the journey continues by off road vehicle through the Ragabo forest toward the lava front created during the 2002 eruption.
The excursion finishes by following the Mare-neve road toward Linguaglossa or Giarre before returning to the hotel. Hiking shoes, a windbreaker, and a hat are not included and should be brought. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the tour may be canceled with a refund.
