Explore Coastal Maine with a Long-Term E-Bike Rental
Coastal Maine Outdoors offers a wide selection of well-maintained electric bicycles for exploring Kennebunk and the surrounding coastal communities. This booking includes a 14-day rental, giving riders plenty of time to discover the area at their own pace. Every e-bike is regularly inspected by experienced mechanics and comes with a helmet, bike lock, and area map. The fleet includes standard adult e-bikes, passenger cargo e-bikes, and electric tricycles.
The standard adult e-bikes feature comfortable seating, multiple pedal-assist modes, gears, hydraulic brakes, digital displays, and throttles, with ranges of approximately 30 to 50 miles per charge. Passenger e-bikes can carry up to two passengers within a combined 200-pound limit, while e-tricycles provide additional stability, comfortable seating, suspension, and rear cargo space. All current e-bikes are Class 2 models with pedal assistance and throttles, reaching speeds of up to 20 miles per hour.
Delivery is included with this booking for rentals lasting at least two days, covering Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Arundel, Cape Porpoise, Biddeford Pool, and Wells. Deliveries generally leave the shop at 4 p.m., with pickup available at or after the same time. Riders can also add a tow-behind trailer for up to two children, with each child weighing no more than 40 pounds. Child seats and tag-a-long bikes are not compatible with the e-bikes.
Riders must be at least 16 years old to operate these Class 2 e-bikes under Maine law. Bikes generally accommodate riders five feet and taller, with adjustable seats and multiple sizes available. Helmets are required for every e-bike rental, and riders should remember that most local cycling takes place on roads shared with vehicles and pedestrians rather than dedicated coastal bike paths. Following traffic laws and choosing suitable routes is essential for a safe and enjoyable Maine cycling adventure.
