The Monte da Guia marine reserve on Faial Island is among the most frequently visited diving areas. The sites are reached by semi rigid boat and are located close to the base. Divers can encounter triggerfish, groupers, wrasse, octopuses, moray eels, and colorful nudibranchs among the underwater rocks.
Dive sites are selected according to each diver’s experience, preferences, weather, and sea conditions. Before entering the water, the guide explains the chosen location, marine life, and necessary safety precautions. Non certified participants can also enjoy snorkeling or an introductory diving experience with a qualified instructor.
The experience covers an activity explanation, boat with skipper, diving guide, bottles, and weight belt. Diving equipment is available for an additional rental fee. Certified divers must bring their certification card and current medical certificate. Non certified guests can also choose freediving for an additional fee.
