Kenai River Sockeye Salmon Fishing
Enjoy an exciting five hour fishing adventure along the famous Kenai River in Alaska. This guided sockeye salmon fishing experience welcomes anglers of all ages and takes place during the prime summer fishing season. Meeting at Keystone Public Boat Launch, guests can enjoy the beautiful river surroundings while pursuing some of Alaska’s most impressive sockeye salmon.
The Russian River bound sockeye run begins arriving around mid June, with the strongest opportunity generally occurring between June 10 and June 25. The late Kenai River sockeye run begins arriving in early July and reaches its peak between July 15 and August 15. These late run fish are known for their impressive size, often averaging between eight and twelve pounds.
Everything needed for fishing, including waders, is available for the experience. Guests only need to bring warm clothing, rain gear, a valid fishing license and food or drinks. Fishing regulations and daily limits can vary according to the date, so guests should check the current Alaska fishing regulations before their trip and ensure they have the required license.
Guests must check in the evening before their trip between 5 PM and 7 PM to confirm the meeting location and time. A text message with the next morning’s details will also be sent, so a current mobile number is required. The experience offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy Alaska’s famous salmon fishing while surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Kenai River.
