Wildlife Heroes at Urimbirra Wildlife Park is a three hour educational program designed for children aged five to twelve. It offers young participants a hands on introduction to animal care conservation and the daily work of wildlife keepers.
Children learn about unique animals their natural history and the importance of protecting wildlife. The program encourages curiosity about nature while helping participants understand how animals are cared for and supported in healthy environments.
Participants take part in keeper based activities such as feeding cleaning enrichment preparation monitoring research and exhibit design. They also help prepare the park before visitors arrive and discover how enrichment encourages natural animal behaviours.
The program takes place behind the scenes and requires participants to wear the special program tshirt. It is a drop and go activity designed for children who can participate independently. Families needing additional support should consider the Inclusive Heroes program.
