The Sawmill invites nature lovers and curious explorers to take part in a free community science Bioblitz. This self guided event offers everyone an opportunity to discover and document the plants animals insects fungi and other wildlife living across the property.
Participants can explore at their own pace between seven in the morning and noon. No previous experience is required as long as you bring curiosity and a smartphone. The free iNaturalist app is recommended before arrival with project information provided during check in.
The Sawmill features diverse habitats including meadow pond river swamp and forest. These natural spaces provide opportunities to spot birds wildflowers aquatic insects turtles and many other fascinating species while learning more about the local environment.
Throughout the event the Learning Center will provide helpful nature observation equipment while supplies last. Families can also enjoy wildlife scavenger hunt challenges designed especially for children. Advance registration is encouraged and participants may arrive anytime during the event window.
