Katya was our perfect guide. We are Americans and new to Amsterdam. This is a great way to see the city and experience cycling around without worrying about directions. The food and drink were a fun bonus to learning about the history of Amsterdam. I’m so glad we booked with Katya!

We had an amazing food tour with Todd on the evening of 4th November! Todd was absolutely fantastic — witty, hilarious and full of fascinating historical insights that brought Amsterdam’s food culture to life. His storytelling was honestly the highlight for me! The food itself was wonderful — the smoked eel was my top favourite (so delicious!), and I also really enjoyed the red herring, the “silver of the sea.” The warm stroopwafels at Melly’s Stroopwafels were the perfect sweet touch to end the evening. Walking through the city all the way to Dam Square gave me such a beautiful view of Amsterdam by night — it was truly amazing. As Todd said, “Dutch food is down to earth and life-sustaining,” and this tour captured exactly that spirit. Highly recommend!

This was a fun tour. It leans heavily on the food and drinks available here in Amsterdam. There was some knowledge shared about Amsterdam itself but wasn’t all encompassing. So if you’re expecting to learn a lot about Amsterdam, I would just be prepared to learn the highlights. I would just emphasize that this is very much walking and standing. Amsterdam is full of cobblestones and cooler weather, so wear accurate attire since you are outside for most the experience. It’s definitely a full meal - I am stuffed. The food choices were great. Dennis was very knowledgeable. I found this to be worth the cost. I would do this again.

Katya is amazing. The food tour was delicious but the stories and information she gave with it made it so personal. I was happily stuffed by the end. One of the best tours I have been on and the homemade by Katya Stroopewaffel was fun to watch and even better to eat.

Highly recommend touring with Katja! She was so patient, knowledgeable, and fun to get to know. She took us to so many wonderfully delicious food places that we inevitably had to start sharing things because we were getting so full! Despite it being a food tour, Katja gave us time to pop into some stores for shopping too which was so sweet (she gifted my husband and me a very cute gift since we just got married). She gave us our first metro experience, let us sample the sweetest grapes from a local, but also helped us take photos, and was just a sensational tour guide overall. We look forward to seeing her again next time we’re in Amsterdam!
