Glacier Dog Sledding Adventure Soars Above Alaska’s Wilderness

Travelers can enjoy a remarkable glacier adventure that combines a scenic helicopter flight with an authentic dog sledding experience. The three and a quarter hour journey offers a bird’s-eye view of up to four glaciers and the world’s largest temperate rainforest while flying toward a remote dog camp surrounded by Alaska’s spectacular mountain scenery.

At the glacier camp, guests meet professional dog sled racers with experience in the Iditarod and Yukon Quest. The guides introduce visitors to the history and fundamentals of dog sledding before preparing them for an exhilarating journey across the snow-covered glacier behind a team of energetic and well-cared-for sled dogs.

The experience includes approximately thirty minutes of helicopter flight time and about one hour on the glacier. Guests can enjoy the excitement of traveling across the snowy landscape while learning more about the dogs, the sport and the challenging environment that makes glacier dog sledding such a memorable Alaskan adventure.

Over boots are provided to fit comfortably over guests’ shoes, while visitors should bring warm layers, long socks and sunglasses for the colder glacier conditions. Participants must be at least two years old and able to enter and exit the helicopter independently with staff assistance. Guests should also be aware of baggage restrictions, possible weight surcharges and aircraft seating arrangements based on safety and balance.
