The Historic Farnsworth House offers visitors a guided journey through a home listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Each room reveals stories connected to the Battle of Gettysburg, with historic details preserved throughout the property.
Guests can climb into the Garret, where a Confederate sharpshooter is believed to have fired the fatal shot that killed Jennie Wade. The tour also features authentic Civil War relics that offer a closer look at the events and experiences of 1863.
The cellar has been transformed into a Victorian Viewing Parlor featuring an antique coffin, period photographs, church pews, and furnishings connected to mourning customs of the era. Outside, more than one hundred bullet holes remain visible across the brick façade.
The tour explores the homes history from its original builder through its present day stewards, offering access inside the historic inn. Some chambers may change without notice because the property remains a working Bed and Breakfast. Smoking and vaping are forbidden, intoxicated guests may be excused, and all participants must sign a waiver. The price is 15 dollars per person plus tax, with free admission for children under seven.
