We visited Roatan for our honeymoon and Jim was our go-to guy for transportation, outings and local tips/information. He went above and beyond to give us the best experience. We ate at the 3 restaurants he recommended: Blue Roatan, Luna Muna at Ibagari, and Sandy Buns and they were just as he promised…delicious! In addition, he took us to AJ’s Monkeys and Sloths, and the Mayak Chocolate Factory for unique experiences. He was readily accessible through WhatsApp and his prices were extremely reasonable. When we come back, we will definitely use Jim at Roatan Getaway Tours again!
My friend and I did the Roatan 3-stop snorkeling tour with a beach break, and it was absolutely amazing! We came on a cruise, and everything was super easy—they picked us up right on time and took care of all the details. On the drive, our guide shared fun and interesting info about Roatán, which made it even better. Once we got in the water, the staff was incredible—so friendly, patient, and always there if you needed help. It was our very first time snorkeling, and we felt completely comfortable the whole time. You don’t even have to be a great swimmer—they have floaties that make it super beginner-friendly. I think we’ve officially unlocked a new hobby! The beach break afterward was the perfect way to finish the tour—beautiful, relaxing, and exactly what we needed. I can’t recommend this tour enough—it’s a must-do in Roatan!
We recently did the Roatan 3-stop snorkelling tour and beach break. It was an amazing trip! We arrived to Roatan on a cruise. We were worried it might be hard to find the company/guide but clear instructions were given. Our transfer driver to the boat was amazing! He gave us lots of interesting information en route. He gave us just enough detail (not too much as is sometimes the case) and was very clear and easy to understand. A lovely man who was very passionate about where he lived. The snorkelling was equally brilliant. We were given snorkels and fins. We stopped at 3 beautiful locations (altho all quite close to each other but 3 very different experiences). Deep water, shallow water and a reef. We saw lots of fish and sea life and unexpectedly even a shipwreck! Drinks were included too. I would have no hesitation recommending the trip to anyone arriving by cruise who wants to save money (compared to the cruise prices). Our experience was completely seamless and after chatting to some people on board the cruise who went on cruise excursions, they actually remarked that their experience was quite chaotic in comparison. We really enjoyed the trip from start to finish. 5 stars.
We chose the Monkey & Sloth Snorkel Adventure and had a wonderful time. Our guide, Monique, was friendly, well informed and flexible. We loved visiting with the sloths and monkeys. A new law enacted in April prohibits people from holding the sloths but don't let that stop you. There was plenty of opportunities to get up close and observe these wonderful animals. The Capuchin monkeys are a show on their own. The snorkeling at French Key was well organized and good for beginners and experienced snorkelers. The water is warm and there is a lot to see. It was the perfect length for a shore excursion from our cruise ship.
We had a great experience with Roatan Getaway Tours. Way less expensive than a cruise line excursion, but also way better service. Our driver, Monique, was extremely attentive and informative, even pointing out points of interest along the way. First stop was at AJ’s Monkey’s & Sloths where you get to hold sloths, birds and interact with monkeys. Then take a short ride to their dock and enjoy nearly an hour of snorkelling in beautiful water. Lots of fish, coral, shells and wildlife to admire. Highly recommend. Great team!
