Te Kōtiu Māori Wellness Retreat is a four day cultural and wellness journey through the sacred landscapes of Te Hiku o Te Ika. The retreat combines Māori traditions, wellness practices, cultural learning and meaningful connections with the land.
Guests begin with a traditional pōwhiri at Maheatai before exploring rongoā Māori, mirimiri and romiromi, sauna sessions and local whānau stalls. The programme also features cultural workshops, traditional navigation, waka knowledge, kapa haka, storytelling and a hāngī feast.
The retreat continues through Aurere, 90 Mile Beach and Te Rerenga Wairua at Cape Reinga. Guests visit Tapotupotu Bay, enjoy a premium lunch and wine tasting at Karikari Estate Winery, and experience the landscapes and cultural stories of the Far North.
The final journey travels through Hokianga before reaching Tāne Mahuta in Waipoua Forest. Accommodation at Taipa Resort, meals, local transport and cultural experiences are part of the retreat, while optional experiences and selected personal expenses are separate.
