The Catch and Kai Overnight Experience offers a two day cultural and culinary journey in Te Hiku. Guests experience Māori traditions through seafood gathering, storytelling, outdoor activities and shared meals while spending a night at Ngāpae Holiday Park.
The first day begins with surfcasting and traditional netting at 90 Mile Beach, followed by tuatua gathering and an optional kina dive. Guests then enjoy a picnic lunch, Sandboarding at the Giant Sand Dunes of Te Paki, and time to swim and relax at the beach.
As evening arrives, the experience continues with a hāngī style dinner and storytelling by firelight before an overnight stay at Ngāpae Holiday Park. The second day brings breakfast followed by another gathering trip for pipi, kina or kōura, along with beach relaxation at Ahipara.
