Traditional Climbing Clinic Builds Confidence With Gear And Systems
Climbers aged sixteen and above can make the transition from top rope or sport climbing to traditional climbing through this two day clinic. Designed to make gear leading easier to understand, the course breaks down complex systems into practical steps while helping participants develop the skills and confidence needed for traditional climbing.
The clinic introduces essential techniques for placing active and passive protection, evaluating gear placements and building strong, redundant anchors. Participants also practice mock leading on top rope, allowing them to place gear and manage the rope while learning without the added pressure of actually leading the route.
Multi pitch climbing systems are another important part of the program. Participants learn about belay transitions, rope management and efficient movement through a route, with instructors emphasizing organized systems, thoughtful decision making and steady progression throughout the experience.
Check in and gear fitting take place at Ledge Brewing Company before carpooling to the climbing areas around North Conway. Participants should be prepared for steep, rocky and sometimes slippery approaches. Small guided groups provide personalized attention, while opportunities to try climbing equipment add practical value to the two day learning experience.
