Heritage Train Journey Connects Drysdale and Queenscliff
A four hour heritage railway experience takes visitors from Drysdale Station to the seaside town of Queenscliff and back, offering a scenic journey through the Bellarine landscape. Departing Drysdale at 10 30am, the train travels through suburban streets, rolling hills and forests before reaching the scenic surroundings of Suma Park and the coast at Swan Bay.
After approximately 45 minutes, the train arrives at Queenscliff Station at 11 15am. Passengers have around two and a half hours to explore the historic seaside town at their own pace. Visitors can discover local shops, cafes and coastal sights while enjoying the distinctive character and history of Queenscliff.
Before boarding, volunteer Booking Officers issue passengers with an Edmondson ticket as a souvenir of the journey. Train conductors move through the carriages during the trip, checking tickets and answering questions about the railway experience. Toddlers and babies aged 0 to 3 years do not require a ticket.
The return journey departs Queenscliff Station at 1 45pm for Drysdale. The advertised service generally operates with a steam locomotive, although a diesel locomotive may be used during Total Fire Ban days or when maintenance is required. Online bookings close at 9am on each running day, with tickets also available at the gate unless sold out.
