Snowmobile and ICEHOTEL Adventure Combines Arctic Riding and Ice Art

A five hour snowmobile adventure offers visitors the chance to combine an exciting Arctic ride with a visit to the world famous ICEHOTEL. The journey from Kiruna travels through snow covered forests and across the frozen Torne River, offering scenic views of the northern landscape along the way. A local guide shares information about the surrounding nature wildlife and how the Arctic environment shapes life in the region.

Before reaching ICEHOTEL, participants receive safety instructions and helmets before completing a test drive around a practice track. The snowmobile journey covers approximately 20 to 30 kilometers, with stops for information safety checks and temperature checks. Guests sharing snowmobiles can alternate drivers during the journey.

At ICEHOTEL, guests receive their entrance tickets from the guide and enjoy a self guided walk through the impressive ice rooms. While visitors explore the ice art and architecture, the guide prepares a warm fire and a light snack. After the visit, guests return to a traditional kata to enjoy a light snack and hot drink before beginning the ride back.

The experience is suitable for participants aged 3 and above, while drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid car driving license. Children under 13 travel in a sled pulled by the guide, while children under 5 must have an adult seated with them. Guests should meet at Torggatan 4 in Kiruna, with standard snowmobile check in 30 minutes before the official start time. The activity is weather dependent and may be adjusted for safety during severe conditions.
