Long Snowmobile Adventure Explores the Arctic Wilderness Around Kiruna

A seven hour snowmobile adventure offers experienced and adventurous travelers the opportunity to explore deeper into the Arctic wilderness surrounding Kiruna. The journey moves beyond the usual tracks, taking participants across frozen lakes and through snow covered forests while a knowledgeable guide shares information about the surrounding nature wildlife and culture.

The experience begins at the meeting point before guests select warm overalls and boots and transfer to the snowmobile garage. After safety instructions and helmet selection, participants complete a test drive on a practice track before starting the longer journey. The route covers approximately 50 to 70 kilometers and includes stops for information safety checks and temperature checks.

A well deserved lunch break is part of the adventure, with food prepared over an open fire beneath the wide Arctic sky. Participants sharing snowmobiles can alternate drivers during the journey. Previous snowmobile driving experience is highly recommended but not required, and the guide will make sure participants feel comfortable before heading further into the wilderness.

The tour is suitable for participants aged 13 and above, while drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid car driving license. Alcohol consumption before or during the tour is prohibited, and participants must follow all safety requirements. Guests should meet at Torggatan 4 in Kiruna, with standard snowmobile check in 30 minutes before the official start time. The experience is weather dependent and routes may change in severe conditions.
