Family Bushcraft Session Introduces Essential Outdoor Survival Skills
Families and groups can discover the fundamentals of bushcraft in a hands-on outdoor session designed for participants aged seven and above. The experience focuses on practical survival knowledge while creating an engaging environment where beginners can learn useful skills together.
Held in a purpose-built outdoor Bushcraft Classroom, the session concentrates on four essential survival areas: shelter, fire, food and water. Participants learn about different shelter styles and have the opportunity to build their own, while instructors introduce several fire-lighting techniques and guide guests in creating a fire from a spark.
The food and water section explores the risks of poor decisions in survival situations. Participants can use their fire to prepare bush tea and a simple bush snack, with younger participants and those young at heart able to enjoy roasting marshmallows.
All necessary safety equipment, materials, insurance and professional instruction are included. The session takes place outdoors rather than in woodland, with a parachute shelter available during rain and dry wood provided for successful fire lighting. Guests should arrive 10 minutes early and meet at the front of the main building beside the access ramp with black railings
