Silver Splash is a community focused sea kayaking program created for seniors in partnership with the Whatcom Council on Aging. The paddle offers an opportunity to enjoy time on Bellingham Bay while connecting with fellow water enthusiasts in a relaxed group setting.
Participants should already have sea kayaking experience and feel comfortable paddling independently. The program is designed for older adults, with accessible equipment and supportive opportunities available to make participation easier.
All necessary kayaking equipment is available for the activity, allowing participants to focus on enjoying their time on the water. The group paddle is participant led and offers a casual way to socialize while exploring Bellingham Bay.
Participants without previous kayaking experience must complete a First Splash session before joining. The program also offers scholarship support to help reduce financial barriers and encourage greater community participation.
