Austin Mini Rug Tufting Workshop
Austin visitors can enjoy a hands on tufting workshop designed for participants aged 10 and above. The two hour session offers a creative introduction to rug making without needing personal tufting equipment.
Participants learn how to thread and operate an AK 1 cut pile tufting machine. The workshop also introduces basic rug tufting techniques and gives guests practical experience with the equipment during the session.
Participants work with a 15 by 12 inch frame to create a rug measuring approximately 11 inches. Guests can create a custom design while using the materials and equipment available during the workshop.
Children aged 12 and under must have a guardian aged 16 or older to assist when needed. Every participant must complete the liability form. Rugs are not available the same day and are ready for pickup or shipping within three to four weeks. The glue contains latex.
