Step into the shadowy heart of Florence on this immersive evening walking tour through the city’s mysterious side. Guided by stories hidden behind ancient facades and dark alleyways, you'll explore eerie legends and forgotten truths tucked within the Renaissance capital. From a centuries-old Masonic seat where a ghost resists closing windows to the tomb of a painter who trained under Botticelli, each stop reveals Florence’s hidden past. Along the way, you’ll pass the wheel of the Abandoned Children, medieval wooden structures with arcane carvings, and the spot where the powerful Pucci family plotted against Cosimo I de' Medici.
As you wander through the streets, you’ll uncover tales of love, betrayal, and intrigue—like the tragic story of Madama Bianca and the secrets of Benvenuto Cellini’s bronze masterpiece, Perseus. This tour invites you to listen closely as Florence speaks through whispers of its past. Your guide will bring to life the characters who once walked these same streets, and if you wish to pause for a limoncello, wine, or gelato, they’ll point you toward the city’s finest night spots, blending haunting history with modern charm.

Our guide Antonio was amazing. He was enthusiastic and entertaining, bringing the stories to life in an informative and amusing (at appropriate times) . Our Florence visit will be remembered.

Loved our Florence Free Tour – Tale! Our guide Anna was awesome — super enthusiastic and knew tons about the city. She made the whole tour so fun and interesting, and you could tell she really enjoys what she does. She gave great explanations about the main sights in the historic center and even shared a few cool stories we wouldn’t have heard otherwise. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence — such a great experience!

Our guide had a lot of cool info. Only thing we didn’t like was that the sound kept going out.

Jamie was a great guide with lots of knowledge on Florence History. It was very interesting and informative tour. Thanks Jamie

glenda was a great guide both friendly and knowledgeable. She really brought her stories to life. would do a tour with her again. she was let down by her microphone at times. but that did not spoil our enjoyment.

This tour was fantastic! It definitely was the highlight of my Florence trip. The experience was so immersive, insightful and fun. My guide was Monica and I’m so happy I was able to experience her tour. Monica was super knowledgeable and funny! I recommend 100%. For awareness, the €2 is for the radio and headsets, please bring cash to tip the guides.

Highly recommend. It was a really interesting tour and our guide Chiara is a very good story teller. We were captivated throughout; she had so many facts to share with us. You can look at beautiful buildings, but to know the history of why they were built, brings them to life. Bravo 👏 After the tour, we were given lots of ideas of places to visit, so we tried the cafe with a view, as suggested, and we were not disappointed 😀

Yesterday, I took a walking tour in Florence with Riccardo—and as someone who’s a bit of a veteran when it comes to walking tours across Europe, I have to say this was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. And no, I’m not exaggerating. Let me explain why. Everywhere in Europe (or really, the world) is steeped in history. It takes people years to specialise in certain aspects of a region’s past—let alone attempt to condense the history of an entire city. Florence is no exception. It’s one of the oldest cities in the world, layered with stories upon stories. So to design a two-hour walking tour that manages to give you a meaningful introduction without overwhelming you is an incredible feat. That’s where Riccardo truly shines. He’s created a clever narrative loop that introduces you to Florence in a way that’s light enough to follow but substantial enough to stay with you. Every stop on the tour ties into the next, and by the end, it all connects beautifully. The content isn’t overly academic, but it’s curated so thoughtfully that it enriches your entire visit—because now, you have context. And context, in a new city, is everything. So if you’re in Florence and want a tour that gives you just the right amount of history to get your bearings—and still leaves you excited to explore the city on your own—start here. This is the perfect way to get your feet wet before diving in.

We had a wonderful time on this walking tour! It was the perfect introduction to Florence, and we learned so much history along the way. Our guide, Gabriella, was so friendly and helpful and gave us great tips along the way as well! I highly recommend this tour!

Fabio was Fabulous! He taught us so much about the history and culture of the city! I felt like I had insider knowledge and truly can appreciate the history all the more due to this tour. Also, the listening technology was great - we didn’t miss anything that was said. I’d recommend this to anyone and everyone!
