Edge of the World" vary depending on whether it refers to a geological site near Riyadh, a movie, or a book. The geological site is praised for its stunning, otherworldly views and the professionalism of tour guides like Hashem, who provide an unforgettable experience with local snacks and cultural insights. Conversely, reviews for the movie are mixed, noting its good acting and visuals but criticizing a "white savior" narrative and a rushed plot. Book reviews highlight different works, such as one focusing on the cultural history of the North Sea region and another a visual adventure book of outdoor photography.

This is the one experience that is not to be missed if you are visiting Riyadh and you enjoy outdoors. Getting here is not easy: it takes about two hours from the city, at least one hour of which is on completely featureless bumpy desert dirt (not dirt road, just dirt… there is no discernible road in that last one hour - see picture). Do not attempt driving on your own, as you may get lost (there are also no signs to show you where to go). Take an organized tour to get you there. It is disconcerting at first, since there is nothing to see during that last hour of drive. But once you get there, you are rewarded with spectacular vistas, rock formations and a jaw dropping sheer drop in the desert landscape. It is a scene to behold. And it is particularly striking during sunset. Most organized tours leave Riyadh around 1:00, and get there around 4:30 (with a brief stop at a bat cave along the way), leaving you about 45-60 minutes before and 15 minutes after sunset to enjoy the spectacular scenery (in late Fall). It is a 10 minutes walk on even surfaces to the main viewing area from where the vehicles park. Again, do *NOT* attempt driving there on your own and take one of the organized tours so that you can enjoy the scenery without worrying about getting there and back. Nite that your return trip will be in the dark, all the more reason to take an organized tour.

An amazing place. It feels you are at the edge of the world. The place has no facilities and is away from everything. To get into the park is free, you have some asphalt then compact dirt. Onelce you get to the edge, road ends and short hikes to where u want to go for the best views. You do not a 4x4 but recommended only for clearance.

Amazing experience, went with a tourist agency from GetYourGuide. Very unique and different sort of place. Cliff in a desert. Has three high points where a short trek is needed, not a difficult one. But wear good walking shoes, since it can be slippery because of loose dirt. Beautiful spot to see sunset. Equally great scenic route to get here once the desert starts.

An awe-inspiring half-day tour from Riyadh, the Edge of the World is an absolute must-visit. You can easily book a tour online, which includes convenient pickup and drop-off from a central Riyadh location. The landscape is breathtaking and looks like it's straight out of a movie. You'll find a dramatic plateau with sheer cliffs plunging into a vast desert. The view is spectacular, with a barren landscape stretching to the horizon on the other side. The sunset is incredibly beautiful here, painting the sky with vibrant colors. As night falls, the stars emerge, creating a dazzling display in the clear desert sky. This incredible experience is a must for anyone visiting Riyadh.
