A really nice day escape from Marrakesh. Easy to reach by car and worth the trip. We were there in April and on a weekday so there weren’t too many people. It’s not too difficult to climb to the waterfall and once you are there you can admire the vistas, enjoy a cold breeze and take great pictures. The dinner at the river was a cherry on a cake.
This waterfall is beautiful... well worth the day trip from Marrakesh! I highly encouragr you to search out Yousef as your tour guide. Ouzoud is literally his backyard. He told us all about the local vegetation, traditions, and showed us some very cool photo spots. He is also friends to some really amazing furry cuties (brother monkeys).
Such a beautiful place with a couple of fun activities! It has definitely become a big touristy attraction, to the point where you will find as many commercial shops, both on your way to the waterfalls and back, as you can find in Marrakesh. I strongly recommend taking the “boat” and getting close to the waterfalls as it gets funny when you get wet ahahha. Besides this, there are people who ask for money in exchange for nuts and sugar to give to monkeys, although it really endanger the monkeys’ health. The monkeys are fun and all but the people feeding them there are not. Stay away from them.
