Every visit to New York City deserves a taste of its most iconic foods — Bagels, Dumplings, Pizza, and Tacos. Each of these dishes has roots in immigrant communities and has since transcended its origins to become a global favorite. On this immersive food tour, you’ll savor delicious versions of all four while exploring the vibrant neighborhoods where they flourished: the Lower East Side, Chinatown, Little Italy, and Nolita. As we stroll through these colorful streets, we’ll uncover the rich history, evolution, and cultural impact of these foods, and how they’ve helped shape New York into the culinary capital it is today.
This experience isn’t just about eating — it’s about connecting. We’ll take time to admire the art, architecture, and historical layers that define this part of Manhattan, diving into the stories behind each bite. With small, flexible groups and no rigid script, we have the freedom to veer off the tourist trail and explore hidden gems. Whether you're a first-timer or a returning traveler, you’ll walk away not just full, but with a deeper appreciation of the city and the communities that built it — and a craving to come back for more.

Had a wonderful time on a lower east side tour with Ben - he was so knowledgeable about all of the historical areas and of course provided us with a warm fresh bagel at the start of the tour and some complimentary food goodies along the way! Wonderful time on this tour and would highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I joined Ben on his walking tour of Chinatown & Little Italy (in February) and had a very nice time! Ben is very knowledgeable about the area and was able to lead us through a very interesting historic review, with personal anecdotes from his decades living and working in the city. He was friendly and very happy to answer questions as well. We really enjoyed our tour.

Great tour of the Herald Square area followed by a unique and educational tour of Ess-a-Bagel store. Behind the scenes view of the preparation and cooking of an authentic bagel with a delicious sandwich as a satisfying ending. Perfect for tourists wanting a little taste of NY or locals looking for a fun outing.

My parents and I were in NY and wanted a unique tour with real New Yorker stories. So we choose Bens bagel tours. Ben told great stories of the lower east side and gave us an idea about Bagels. The historical side was awesome, I just recommend to include food on the tour :-) We visited the best food places in the LES but we wanted to eat more even if we have to pay more.

This was the best walking tour in NYC and so impressive. We experienced Grand Central and saw the hidden market, tennis courts, secret passageways, and hidden apartment / bar. The bagel was delicious too :-). I highly recommend Ben as the best tour guide
