Originally established in the late nineteenth century as a three hole course. It later expanded in the early twentieth century into a nine hole layout and eventually became a full eighteen hole course before returning to a nine hole design after the Second World War. The course has evolved while preserving its coastal canyon character and natural charm.
The layout winds through a narrow canyon toward the ocean offering sweeping views of Avalon Bay and the Catalina Casino. The course is known for small greens deep bunkers and a challenging natural terrain that tests precision and skill. Players can use a driving net and a practice putting area.
