Weekend Experience

This two day weekend course offers a complete introduction to beekeeping through a balance of theory and hands on learning. It is designed for beginners as well as those with some basic knowledge who want to build confidence in managing bees. Participants will explore different types of bees including solitary bees bumblebees and honey bees while understanding their life cycles roles and importance in pollination. The course also explains how to choose suitable hive types select proper locations and maintain hygiene standards essential for healthy colonies.

The second day focuses on more advanced practices such as swarm control queen marking and identifying common pests and diseases. Participants will gain practical experience through guided hive inspections in a working apiary. The course also covers honey extraction and introduces other bee related products along with legal considerations and community involvement. By the end of the weekend learners will feel prepared to begin their own beekeeping journey with practical knowledge and confidence.
