Night Dives

Night diving at Catalina offers a completely different underwater experience as the ocean transforms after sunset. Familiar dive sites become new and mysterious as nocturnal marine life emerges and daylight creatures rest. Guided by a local instructor, divers explore the kelp forest illuminated only by dive lights, revealing unique behavior and movement of marine species in their natural nighttime environment.

This shore based night dive takes place in the Casino Dive Park, allowing easy access without a boat. Divers may encounter octopus, lobsters, moray eels and many other fascinating species active after dark. It is designed for certified divers who are comfortable in the water at night and may also count toward advanced certification. Proper lighting equipment is essential to safely enjoy and navigate the underwater environment.
