Arriving in Marrakesh for the first time, it is so tempting to go on a buying spree as there are so many unusual crafts available. Fight off the temptation and wait until you have done a guided tour with Abdul. The tour takes 4 hours and is very informative. Abdul knows the city exceptionally well as he does the history of Marrakesh and, indeed, Morocco. We were taken to every important and interesting sight in Marrakesh including the secret garden, around the main mosque and square. What made the tour particularly interesting was the tour through the craftsman workshops. There was an earthquake in 2023 and many of the workshops were damaged. The craftsmen work in what remains of their workshops creating the most incredible products including metal crafts, wooden crafts and woven crafts. Abdul has a love of his city and the people living and working there. Tourism is a key source of income helping the city recover from the earthquake and he shows you the heart of the city striving for this not just the normal tourist attractions. He helped guide us on bartering and advising on what a fair price was for items we purchased. The tour is worth every dharma and you feel like you are saying farewell to a friend when the tour ends.

If you want to explore Marrakech by yourself, go for it. If you want to EXPERIENCE, and explore Marrakech, book this tour, and request Mohamed. He brought me and my family around old city and through the shops. He was chock full of info, details, stories, etc. and brought us to all of the best places. The attention to detail to provide us with a quality experience was top notch. Just an an example, he knew I wanted a specific soccer jersey, and he would be on the lookout in the shops, looking for the one I wanted and size. He brought us to the right places, showed us the right things, and my family and I have come away from this trip feeling like we got everything out of the old city. A+, 100%, gold star, whatever your top grade is, Mohammed gets. Book this tour, don’t hesitate.

Abdul was the perfect guide to take us around the beautiful city of Marrakech. As we have an interest in history, Abdul was able to give us a detailed overview on how the city of Marrakech and the Kingdom of Morocco was formed, and took us around the relics. Abdul was very flexible and he catered the tours to our needs within the allotted time period. We had two half-day sessions, and in the first, we toured the highlights of the city including Koutoubia Mosque, Jemaa El-Fnaa square, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, Le Jardin Secret and the complex system of alleyways branching off of the main square, which Abdul knew like the back of his hand. In the second toured, we visited the food stalls trying snails, seafood, and various parts of sheep/cow, all of which Abdul recommended. He also recommended the best spots to buy souvenirs, dates, tajines, paintings and tunics with great quality and a reasonable price. Abdul was very approachable, knowledgeable and flexible during our two days with him and we could have not asked for anyone better. I highly recommend Marrakech Guided Tours and Abdul!
