Tabacón is absolutely stunning — the facilities are on another level. The natural hot springs set within lush tropical gardens feel magical, with every pool and pathway beautifully designed and perfectly maintained. It’s one of the most breathtaking wellness experiences I’ve ever had. The staff deserve special mention as well. Everyone I interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making the experience memorable. From the welcome drink to the thoughtful service throughout the day, I felt incredibly well taken care of. If you’re visiting the Arenal area, Tabacón is an absolute must. A perfect blend of nature, relaxation, and outstanding hospitality.
This review is for a day pass at the “hot” springs part of Tabacon. Note that the thermal springs at Tabacón are warm-ish, but NOT hot. Most hot springs resorts have pools with a variety of temperature from 95-120. At this one, they only have two temperatures: two pools marked 76 degrees and all the rest marked 96-100. This basically is similar to warm bath water. There are NO pools as warm as a typical hot tub. My husband and I sat if the hottest of the pools for 90 minutes and didn’t sweat or need to cool off. Setting is beautiful, but I thought $100 per person was over priced for the lack of hot pools. I wouldn’t return. Also, if there are views of the volcano, those views are not available with a day pass, as some areas are reserved for only hotel guests.
Absolutely stunning resort surrounded by lush rainforest and views of Arenal Volcano. The service is exceptional, every staff member makes you feel truly cared for. The natural hot springs and facilities are a must-do in the region even if you do not stay for the night. It is pure heaven on earth, so peaceful, luxurious and unforgettable. We will definitely come back soon!! We also must highlight the outstanding service from the activities partner at the resort. They helped us book and coordinate excursions with Jacamar Naturalist Tours who provided expert guides, premium managed logistics, and truly enhanced our adventure and experience of the region.
Wow! Been fortunate enough to stay at some beautiful hotels in my life and there is no doubt this is a top hotel! I stayed in the cheapest room with a friend with a double bed each. The resort is beautiful and the thermal springs are magical which we used all the time as part of the hotel booking. The service is second to none. Nothing was too much for the staff and they went above and beyond constantly. Stayed for two nights and could definitely of stayed more. Travelled as friends but saw families and couples also staying. Definitely would be a great honeymoon place! Highly recommend and worth every penny!
This was our fourth time visiting Tabacon and i can confidently say it remains one of the very best resorts in the Arenal Area. The hot springs are truly out of this world - especially when it rains. At night, it feels like heaven. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, and the food at the hot springs restaurant is exceptional. Every staff member is warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive. You can tell how much care goes into the experience - the resort employs over 300 people DAILY to keep the property in pristine condition and it shows. The entire compound is massive, beautifully maintained, and lush with tropical greenery. If I had one week to spend in Arenal, I'd do three nights at Tabacon and four nights at The Springs Resort - the perfect combination. Tabacon is now owned by an American resort group (Pursuit Attractions and Hospitality, Inc) and I truly hope they continue to preserve the magic of this incredible place. Im buying their stocks (NYSE PRSU). LOL.
