Irazú Volcano and Mineral Hot Springs at Hacienda Orosi

At the summit of the Poás Volcano, visitors are treated to breathtaking views of its massive main crater, one of the most prominent volcanic craters in the world. On clear days, the panoramic vista expands even further, offering rare glimpses of both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea from a single vantage point—a truly awe-inspiring experience. As the journey continues, we descend toward the historic city of Cartago, where we make a meaningful stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels. This revered site is the most important religious sanctuary in Costa Rica, drawing thousands of pilgrims each year who come to pay homage and seek blessings from the Virgin of the Angels.

Our day concludes in the peaceful and scenic region of Orosi, where La Hacienda Orosi is nestled among lush rainforest and surrounded by abundant natural beauty. This serene location is home to ancient thermal springs, known for their rich mineral content and soothing properties. Unlike volcanic hot springs, these telluric waters are naturally heated deep within the Earth’s crust, emerging at temperatures above 65°C. The thermal pools, set amidst the rainforest, offer a rejuvenating and tranquil experience—perfect for unwinding after a day of cultural and natural exploration.
