Apparently, the Chinatown Complex is the largest hawker centre in Singapore I had some free time before meeting Madams, and although I knew we’d be having a proper lunch later, my curiosity got the better of me I set out alone from the hotel, enjoying a morning walk When I arrived on the second floor, many stalls were still closed, so I decided to take a stroll around — over 200 stalls packed closely together First, I wanted porridge I figured any place with a line of locals had to be good, so I joined the queue Following those ahead of me, I ordered bee hoon and porridge — served in a large bowl like a café au lait bowl Simple, yet something you could eat every day without getting tired of it But then — my appetite was fully awakened Earlier, I had passed a stall selling wonton and char siu noodles that caught my eye, and I couldn’t find it again despite circling around and around… By this point, lunch was no longer a concern. After all, this was my last chance to eat here! So yes, I gave in — and I must say, it was even better than the porridge

I think you can find a wide array of international & local cuisine at pretty decent prices which may be a shock to tourists we can eat out cheap in SG. I personally like the AN JI steamed fish head in sour plum gravy (there are several stalls selling similar), very appetizing as well as fresh fruits juices like Green Apple Yakult and Soupsop ($7 for both) at stall #02-192.

Zhong guo la mian xiao long bao (中国拉面小笼包) "China handmade noodle and dumpling After 40 years, I’ve finally stumbled upon this hawker treasure! The (10) Szechuan Spicy Noodle at #02-135 packs serious umami and that perfect kick of heat. Totally worth the wait! 😋🔥! Don’t forget to add the (1) Xiao Long Bao and (2) Guo Tie to complete your flavour adventure here! 🥟✨

Plenty of food choices here, ranging from local favourites to unique hawker finds. Prices are reasonable and budget-friendly. However, cleanliness is on the lower side, so don’t expect restaurant standards—it’s a typical hawker centre experience.

Surprisingly good place to find delicious and cheap food. Bad thing is the place can get really hot since it’s not air conditioned. Walk around the place to find some hidden stalls only the locals know. There will be long queues in front of them. Price is lower than other places in Singapore but the taste is on average, slightly better or much better. Overall it’s a good place to have your meals here.
