This food tour was an amazing way to see more of the Dubrovnik region and a great excursion. Our guide was communicative leading up to the excursion and very knowledgeable of the area. He was a great host and made adjustments to the tour schedule to accommodate our interests. The donkey farm was a huge highlight for the day! The meal we shared was delicious and authentic - and if it’s available, don’t miss the donkey milk ice cream! Getting the tour of the winery and learning about the vineyard and varieties of Croatian wine was delightful and the terrace where we did our tasting was very pleasant. All in all, it was one of our favorite parts of the trip and we would strongly recommend to anyone who is visiting Dubrovnik!
What a wonderful day enjoying the food, wine, farms and forests of Croatia. I can’t say enough about the kindness and patience of our guide, Hamo. His insights and information about the area were great, and we enjoyed not only the fruits of the area (figs, grapes, wine, lamb, veal and local liqueurs) but his personal history and stories. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to get to know Croatia more intimately. A beautiful day in a beautiful country.
Goran was a wonderful host and our group was lovely. Small, just 8 of us. My husband had been sick all night and couldn’t attend. Goran made sure that food was packaged up and sent back to him! All of the stops had amazing food, healthy portions, and the wine flowed as well. I highly recommend!
There is no better way to learn a new city than to take a walking food tour. And this was especially true with old Dubrovnik. Our guide, Maris, was friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable of the city’s history and the region’s cuisine. The food and especially the local wine was terrific. We can’t recommend this tour enough, and we hope you get Maris as your guide!
We did two tours with Dubrovnik Food Tours, during our 10 nights in Croatia, and I have to say both were definitely worth the full 5 stars. Our first was a walking food tour of Dubrovnik Old Town with Goran, as our wonderfully witty and entertaining host and guide. It's not a history tour, it's a food tour with lots of lovely conversation and great food and wine to sample from the local region, and throughout the whole of Croatia. It was like spending an evening with old friends, enjoying the wonderful sights, sounds and smells of what the Old Town's hidden little gems really have to offer. I would highly recommend it if you like meeting new people and enjoy tantalising your senses with new experiences. Our second adventure was a full day private boat tour of the Elafiti Islands. Our captain was the absolutely amazing Maro. His moto was 'mi casa es su casa' and from the very start that's exactly how we felt....at home! Maro is such a wonderful person and charming character that by the end we felt like we'd known him forever. He provided us with food and drinks throughout the day and joined us in all the adventures and experiences we participated in during our fantastic 8 hours aboard his vessel. From swimming, snorkelling, wining and dining we did it all and it was one of the best trips we have ever been fortunate enough to have been on. I couldn't recommend this tour more highly, as it wasn't just a day out with a guide it was a special time with a new friend making long lasting memories. How much more could we ask? To top it off we got to meet the charming Hamo, the owner of Dubrovnik food tours. It was really lovely to get the opportunity to thank him personally for arranging such brilliant tours with two of the best guides you will ever have the pleasure of spending time with.
