Board your horse at Wildwood Stables in Acadia National Park for a two-night equestrian experience in the heart of scenic forested carriage roads. The stables feature three barns with spacious stalls, water spigots, and bathing areas for horses. Riders can explore over forty-five miles of carriage roads while enjoying tranquil surroundings and fresh air. Nine campsites with full RV hookups provide electricity, water, and power, allowing guests to combine overnight camping with hands-on horse care. This self-care boarding encourages riders to actively manage their horses while immersing themselves in the natural beauty and peaceful landscapes of Acadia National Park.
Proper vaccination documentation is required before unloading horses, including negative Coggins, EHV-1 Rhino, and Rabies vaccines, as well as a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for non-residents. Guests must present neatly organized printed copies as digital copies are only accepted several days prior to arrival. Wheelbarrows, rakes, brooms, and manure forks are available for daily horse care, and hay and shavings can be purchased on site. With limited cell coverage and no Wi-Fi, riders should prepare all materials ahead of time. This two-night stay combines hands-on equestrian care with outdoor adventure, providing a safe and comfortable way to enjoy Maine’s historic carriage roads.
