Board your horse at Wildwood Stables in Acadia National Park for a thirteen-night equestrian experience surrounded by peaceful forested carriage roads and scenic landscapes. The stables feature three barns with spacious stalls, water spigots, and bathing areas for horses. Guests can ride or drive along extensive carriage roads while enjoying fresh air, tranquil surroundings, and views of Maine’s natural beauty. Nine campsites with RV hookups provide electricity, water, and power access, allowing riders to combine overnight camping with hands-on horse care. This self-care boarding experience encourages guests to actively manage their horses while fully immersing themselves in the calm and beauty of Acadia National Park.
Proper vaccination documentation must be presented before unloading horses, including negative Coggins, EHV-1 Rhino, and Rabies vaccines, along with a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for non-residents. Printed, organized copies are required as digital versions are only accepted several days prior to arrival. Wheelbarrows, rakes, brooms, and manure forks are available for daily horse care, while hay and shavings can be purchased on site. With limited cell coverage and no Wi-Fi, guests should prepare all materials ahead of time. This extended stay combines hands-on equestrian care with outdoor adventure, providing riders a safe and comfortable way to enjoy Maine’s historic carriage roads and peaceful landscapes.
