Wildwood Stables Extends Equestrian Stay to Twelve Nights in Acadia National Park

A twelve-night equestrian experience at Wildwood Stables in Acadia National Park is offering riders an extended opportunity to board and care for their horses within one of Maine’s most scenic protected landscapes. The self-care program is designed for long-term visitors seeking full immersion in the park’s natural environment, combining daily horse management with access to historic carriage roads and forested terrain.

The stables provide three barns equipped with spacious stalls, water spigots, and designated bathing areas, ensuring practical facilities for both horses and riders throughout their stay. Guests can explore miles of carriage roads that wind through peaceful forests, rolling landscapes, and quiet scenic viewpoints, offering a calm and uninterrupted riding experience.

For accommodation, nine campsites with RV hookups are available, providing electricity, water, and power access. This allows visitors to integrate camping with equestrian responsibilities, creating a flexible and self-sufficient outdoor lifestyle while staying within close reach of their horses and the surrounding trails.

Strict entry requirements are enforced, including negative Coggins, EHV-1 (Rhino), and Rabies vaccinations, as well as a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for non-residents. Printed documentation is mandatory, with digital copies accepted only in advance. With limited cell service and no Wi-Fi on site, guests are advised to prepare thoroughly before arrival, ensuring a smooth and well-organized extended stay focused on equestrian care and outdoor exploration.
