Board your horse at Wildwood Stables in Acadia National Park for an eleven-night equestrian experience surrounded by peaceful forested carriage roads and scenic landscapes. The stables feature three barns with spacious stalls, water spigots, and dedicated bathing areas for horses. Guests can ride or drive along over forty-five miles of carriage roads while enjoying fresh air, tranquil surroundings, and beautiful views of the natural environment. Nine campsites with RV hookups provide electricity, water, and power access, allowing riders to combine overnight camping with hands-on horse care. This self-care boarding experience encourages guests to actively manage their horses while fully immersing themselves in the natural beauty and calm of Acadia National Park.

Proper vaccination documentation must be presented before unloading horses, including negative Coggins, EHV-1 Rhino, and Rabies vaccines, along with a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for non-residents. Printed, organized copies are required as digital versions are only accepted several days prior to arrival. Wheelbarrows, rakes, brooms, and manure forks are available for daily horse care, while hay and shavings are available for purchase on site. With limited cell coverage and no Wi-Fi, guests should prepare all materials ahead of time. This experience combines hands-on equestrian care with outdoor adventure, providing riders a safe and comfortable way to enjoy Maine’s historic carriage roads and peaceful landscapes for an extended stay.
