This combo tour offers two thrilling aquatic experiences in a single day, starting with a peaceful morning of wildlife exploration and ending with an adrenaline-pumping adventure through Iceland’s wild rivers. Your day begins with a 3-hour Classic Whale Watching tour in the serene waters of Faxaflói Bay, where you’ll have the chance to see whales, dolphins, and a variety of seabirds, all while taking in the panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. You'll be picked up from your hotel between 8:15 and 8:45 and taken to Reykjavík’s Old Harbour, with the tour beginning promptly at 9:00. After your morning at sea, you'll return to the harbour where Arctic Rafting will collect you between 12:00 and 12:30 and transport you to the next leg of the adventure.
The rafting portion of your journey takes place on the glacial river Hvítá in the scenic Gullfoss Canyon, about 100 km from Reykjavík. After arriving at the Drumboddsstaðir base camp, you’ll be equipped and briefed before heading out on a 60–90 minute rafting trip through the stunning natural landscape. The combination of glacial waters, narrow canyons, and dramatic rock formations makes for a truly unforgettable experience. Once the rafting is over, you’ll return to base camp where you can warm up and unwind in the sauna or hot tub—so don’t forget your bathing suit and towel. Finally, the Arctic Rafting shuttle will take you back to your hotel in Reykjavík. Keep in mind that while pickup is included for the rafting section, you’ll need to select pickup during checkout for the whale watching tour. Those driving themselves must arrive at the Old Harbour before 09:00 and the rafting base before 15:00. A signed waiver is required for rafting, acknowledging the inherent risks involved in the activity.

We had an absolutely fantastic team experience with Rafting.ie! The team was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were so kind as to stay open later for us so we could make it in time after work. The rafting was so much fun, and we were even able to use the sauna for free afterward. We all had a blast, and it was the perfect team-building activity. 5 out of 5 stars—thanks for everything!

Had an amazing rafting experience yesterday. I went there with my colleagues as part of a team bonding (building) exercise and I can say we all had a great time. We had Carl as an amazing driver, he kept us laughing and entertained. He told us fun facts about historical buildings and bridges that we passed along the way. We sang, laughed and made jokes as we paddled along the Liffey. The drops and the random swims along the way were amazing. 10/10 experience and would definitely recommend. I'll come back with More photos

Amazing trip, nothing to wild and wonderful people!

Highly recommended! The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Louise and Keith truly stood out, showing great flexibility when we arrived with an extra person and clearly tailoring the session to suit everyone's age, ability, and interests. The rafting itself was a blast – a blend of exhilarating weirs, opportunities for swimming and games, and calmer stretches to soak in the beautiful scenery. We even spotted herons, swans, kingfishers, and surprisingly, turtles and dogs in the river! The site and equipment were top-notch and well-maintained. The sauna, plunge pool, and pizza were the perfect end to a fantastic day.

I booked this for an end of season day out for a girls rugby team and they had an absolute ball. Some of us used the sauna and plunge pool which was only fabulous ! Great vibe in this really well run facility, beautiful setting to have great fun, pizzas were devoured after the water sports. Highly recommend this business lovely staff too .
